1. Share a time when you ignored a warning. What happened as a result?


2. Read Matthew 7:24-27. What do you think Jesus’ warning reveals about what he’s like and his character? 


3. Read Matthew 7:24-25. Why do you think Jesus says that hearing his words is not enough? If Jesus is the "rock," what do you think it means to build your life on him?


4. Read Matthew 7:26-27. What are some things people rely on in life that might be like "sand" (things that don’t last or hold up under pressure)? 


5. Read Matthew 16:1-4 and Matthew 12:40-41. People wanted a sign that Jesus was who he said he was – God in the flesh. We heard how the only sign you and I need to know that Jesus was and is God, is his life, death and resurrection. What do you think about that? 


6. If Jesus is God and his teaching is like a strong foundation, what would it look like for you to start building your life on it?
