GOD: God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has existed eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, bound together in perfect love . These three persons are co-equal and are one God.
HUMANITY: All people are made in the image of God as the supreme objects of God's creation and his love. Although we all have tremendous potential for good, everyone is haunted by death and scarred by sin. Sin separates people from one another and from God.
ETERNITY: People are created for eternal life. Every person will either be separated from God by sin, or bound in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be separated from God is hell. To be eternally alive in the presence of his love is heaven.
JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father, lived a sinless human life, and proved himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He rose from the grave after three days, defeating sin and death. He ascended to heaven and is the only mediator between God and people. In the future he will return again to earth.
SALVATION: Men and women can never earn eternal life by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in God's grace can a person be saved from sin, death and the devil. Salvation is received and maintained by the grace and power of Christ, not by our self-effort. No power in the universe can separate God's children from Him or His love.
HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of the reality of Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, providing power for living and guidance in following the path of love.
BIBLE: The Bible is God's word to all. It was written by human authors, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead people to the full revelation of God in Jesus Christ. It is the source by which we determine matters of faith and practice.
CONSCIENCE: This church affirms the freedom of conscience of individual members in areas where Scripture is silent or ambiguous. Each believer is to be led in these areas by God, to whom alone he or she is ultimately responsible.
